I want to connect HDMI signal/s to my Sanyo PLV-Z2 projector.? - sanyo video projector

I am the DVD HDMI Upconverter APPO sign of my projector Sanyo PLV-Z2. I have a Pioneer VSX-AX10i amplifier. Can I turn the amplifier from Pioneer? I am not sure if Pioneer Amplifier, the video signal, making the sound. Any help is welcome
